Quality of life - the responsibility of all!

Improving the quality of life of people in Bulgaria is a strategic objective of the OP "Human Resources Development". Access to quality social services and adequate social protection also refers to people over 65 and people with disabilities. The project which offer, guarantees the right to a dignified life in the community of these target groups and aims to meet their needs for increased autonomy and integration into the community, by supporting their health, social and personal development. The envisaged expansion of services in the Unit of “Home care for elderly” in the town Svishtov, is a proven need identified based on an assessment of the specific characteristics of individuals in the community and the needs of social services. Complementarily and integration of existing services Unit with new services "Social assistant", "home medical orderly" and "personal assistant" is a new form of social service in the municipality of Svishtov, which will cover a minimum of 80 cosumer/klients of the target groups and their families, and ensure the conduct of a coherent national and local politics and as a result - higher standard of living in Bulgaria. At the same time, implement and maintain training for social assistants, home medical orderly and personal assistants will provide employment for people of working age, some of them unemployed, and partly forced unworkable because of the need to care for relatives at home. The right to a dignified life and active involvement in community life is commitment and responsibility of national, regional and municipal authorities and institutions. Social inclusion of this target group is among the key priorities of state policies and taking into account the pan-European strategies in this field. Of paramount importance is the ability to influence and prevention of discrimination based on disability, by creating conditions for partnership, empowerment, social protection, health care and real integration.
