"Independent living in the Municipality of Novi pazar"

This project proposal aims to upgrade the programs Help at Home and Alternatives by applying a novel multipurpose approach for providing integrated socio – health services for people with disabilities and elderly people who have difficulties in servicing. The newly established Center will ensure higher efficiency of services using significantly less financial resources through the implementation of flexible mechanisms for combined hourly use of various social services tailored to the individual needs of everyone in need. The services Personal Assistant and Home Assistantwill be expanded beyond the close family circle of persons with disabilities and this will enable for real employment opportunities of their relatives for the Labor Market. This project allows improvement of quality of life and social services, including medical ones, for social inclusion in response to the complex needs of disabled people and people above 65 years of age with difficulties in servicing in order to overcome the consequences of social exclusion and poverty as well as providing opportunities for the return to the work force of people who care for their relatives with disabilities. This project will contribute to dealing with the challenge for social policy and, in particular, social services to be addressed in an appropriate manner to meet the actual needs of people with various disabilities or people living alone in a way which should ensure their independence and participation in public life. The unemployment rate, structural changes in the economy, the inaccessible environment, etc. have increased the social isolation of this group of people. One of the main reasons necessitating specialized social services is the inability of people with disabilities and people living with difficulties in daily living to cope in their everyday lives. The offered project aims to improve and expand the services provided by the municipality.
