Centre for hourly provision of services for social inclusion at Home Social Patronage, Etropole – alternative for dignified and independent life

The project “Centre for hourly provision of services for social inclusion at Home Social Patronage,Etropole – alternative for dignified and independent life” will give the opportunity for expanding the activity of the existing Home Social Patronage in Etropole.Currently, social services are being provided to 120 users at their homes – persons over 60 and people with disabilities. The services include delivery of food, assistance in maintaining personal hygiene and hygiene in the residential premises of the served persons, assistance for providing the necessary facilities to disabled persons and persons with serious illnesses, assistance in communication and maintenance of social contacts, entertainment and other activities at home or outside, purchase of food and objects of common use and payment of running bills with the money of the served persons. The users have to pay monthly for the services and for most of them this is impossible because of the low incomes and pensions. In order to afford the service, the elderly people have to suffer deprivation and to restrict their budgets. Within the project a centre for hourly provision of services for social inclusion in the community or at home will be created, where a team of experts with various qualifications and experience will work. The provision of services will be performed on the basis of the specific needs of each single representative of the target group.Furthermore, personal assistants will be assigned and a specialized vehicle for people with disabilities will be purchased. In this way,the standard of the provided services will be raised and more people in need will have access to these services. For the first time the Home Social Patronage will provide the cares of a nurse,a psychologist and a rehabilitator. Elderly people with disabilities have an extreme need of being visited by a nurse and a rehabilitator at their homes, because it is difficult for them to move. Psychologist is also necessary for their mental health.
