Independent living in municipality Kaolinovo

This project proposal aims to improve the quality of life and access to services for social inclusion in response to complex needs, including health needs of people with disabilities and people over 65 with an inability of self-serving in order to overcome the consequences of social exclusion and poverty. The realization of the project will provide integrated services for people with inability of self-serving and for people with disabilities, combining complex activities towards providing long-term care, incl. home social and health services. It will be created a Centre for hourly provision of home social services. It will provide three main types of hourly activities: for personal help including activities with medical and social orientation, social support and social inclusion, public utility activities. The first one is for personal assistance - maintaining personal hygiene, assistance with meals, medications, escort in hospital. The second type is for social support – communication, social networking creation, visiting cultural events, writing and submission of documents. The last type is associated with household utilities such as shopping, household cleaning, minor repairs, administrative services. 91 unemployed on the duty: "Personal assistants"- 71, "Social assistants"- 10 and "Home assistants"- 10, as will be recruited to meet the needs of 91 people. They must be working-age and to not have acquired the right to retirement pension. The main objective is to create a sustainable model to ensure a dignified life, overcoming social exclusion and poverty by providing home services for people with disabilities and people over 65, in a partial or complete inability of self-serving. Furthermore, through the procedure shall be given the opportunity to return of the real labor market the persons who care for their relatives with disabilities.
