"FOR INDEPENDENT LIFE IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF VETRINO"

The Vetrino Municipality is a small rural municipality with ethnic diversity. The structure of the population has the tendency of continuous increase of the portion of the elderly population at the expense of the portion of the population in work-able age. The Municipality has its traditions and innovative practice in realizing its social politics. The social activities have a stress on the elderly, the disadvantaged and the members of the different ethnicities. The current proposal is a continuation and supplement to the activities of the "Help at Home" project, as well as an upgrade to the provided social services - "Personal and Social Assistant" and "Home assistant", the created in the year 2000 Home Care and the Nursing Home open since 1994, which is also a guarantee for the successful realization of the set project activities. Increasingly more people turn to the Municipality for assistance, while the elderly and the sick people prefer to be in their homes, hence the "Personal and Social Assistant" and "Home Assistant" are all the more necessary. The target groups are: Children and disabled people with limitations or the inability to care for themselves; The elderly with limitations or the inability to care for themselves ,who, for various reasons, are unable to manage their personal and social life and are unable to keep the necessary level of personal hygiene; The unemployed who are in work-able age, who have not acquired the right to a pension for service and age or the occupational pension for early retirement. The main activities are: 1. Organisation and control of the project, 2. Information and publicity, 3. Creating a service center for the home environment in the Vetrino Municiplaity, 4. Training the staff, 5. Giving information, consulting and selecting candidate-users for the service in the Vetrino Municipality, 6. Providing hourly social services.
