‘Independent living support in the municipality of Strazhitsa’

In the settlements in the Municipality of Strazhitsa the number of elderly people and those with disabilities who cannot organize their own living is gradually rising, which raises the need for care. This project proposal aims to improve the quality of life and access to services for people with disabilities and people over 65 with an inability to take care of themselves, development of a new type of services in the Municipality of Strazhitsa and also to ensure employment of people in working age. A Center for hourly servicing at home will be created under the project. Two persons will be employed as managerial staff in the center for the administration of the project. For the provision of services will be employed 57 personal assistants, 8 domestic workers, 1 nurse, 2 supervisors and a psychologist. The project’s duration will be 21 months, and the services will be provided for 18 months. The implementation of the activities under the project will improve the access to basic social and health services, will expand the volume, diversity and targeting of the social services provided in the community for the achievement of independence and social integration of the elderly people and those with disabilities.
