"For an independent Living"

Project "For an independent Living" is aimed at improving the quality of life and overcoming the consequences of social exclusion and poverty through an access to services for social inclusion of people with disabilities and people over 65 years who are unable to look after themselves in Simitli Municipality.To accomplish this aim conditions for long-term care in the community or at home will be created by organizing center for hourly service provision for social inclusion.We plan it to be located in the building of municipal property and during the project allotted premises will be refurbished, equipped and furnished.For the provision of integrated services a team of 27 trained domestic helpers, personal and social assistants, a social worker, psychologist, nurse and therapist will be formed.The staff providing social services will be rendered with psychological support and supervision.Detailed rules and requirements for the functioning of the Centre and the provision of services will be developed. 70 disabled and people over 65 years with limited ability or unable to look after themselves in the community, selected according to their individual needs, will receive complex services, motivational and psychological support within 20 months.The project covers all 18 settlements in the municipality, as for the users from the more distant villages, with mobility difficulties and persons with disabilities specialized vehicles for their transportation to the center will be provided.The main outcome of the project will be the improved access to hourly services for social inclusion in the community or at home for 70 persons in the municipality, guaranteed by rules and procedures for selection, inclusion and evaluation of user needs, provision of services, motivated and qualified work staff, modern physical infrastructure and provided transportation access.The project will be implemented 25 months by formed management team, who includes a manager, coordinator and accountant.
