Improvement of the quality of life of disadvantaged people through integrated social services for independent life

The project is for disadvantaged people – persons with disabilities and not able to take care of themselves living on the territory of the district. Within the framework of the project the registration of these persons will be updated and an assessment of their individual needs of specialized services for social inclusion to be provided in the community and in the family, will be carried out. Through the implementation of a selection procedure 114 users in total will be included in the project, incl. 63 who are currently involved in the “New alternatives” procedure. Selection of new persons providing social services will be made. In addition, 8 persons will be selected to be involved in the provision of services in order to avoid the risk of situations in which some of the personal or home assistants would not be able to fulfill their duties for certain period of time. The services will be provided for a period of 18 months. All persons providing social services, involved in the project, will be trained to provide motivation support as well stimulating more active social inclusion of the users. In this period a psychological support to the persons delivering the services as well as psychological and motivation support to the users of these services will be provided. A control on the spot will be carried out, whose findings will be analyzed and appropriate measures will be taken, if necessary. After the end of the project the District administration will continue to provide social and home assistance related services for a period of 6 months. The project management team is composed of 6 members – manager, coordinator, accountant, legal advisor and two technical assistants.
