Alternative for equal and independent life

Over the last years, considerably has increased the number of people which for one reason or another (health problem, poverty, shortage of founds) have certain social and health needs. Submitting services in a family environment will permit the users to be more active as a part of the community, will prevent their accommodation in specialized institutions, will improve their quality of life. The implementation of the planned activities will provide contribute to common goal of the procedure improving the quality of life and access to services for a social integration. All in response to complex needs, including health, of people with disabilities and people over 65 years, will contribute to overcome social isolation and poverty on the territory of the Municipality of Belene. One of the accents in this area of intervention is focused on the actions of created link “Help at home” in the Municipality of Belene. The activities of this link, that are about hourly services provision for a social integration at home environment, will be expended. This will be provided by appointed experts – psychologist, Social Worker, medical specialist for support for users for special and health services, according their individual needs, will provide also psychological support and consulting staff all to provide the services in a family environment. The designed measured are about strengthening social integration for the people with disabilities and people over 65 years. The achievement of specific objectives will contribute to: expand the volume and scope of services for social integration in the Municipality of Belene; creation of a real opportunity for a decent life of 65 stiff, seriously ill and bedridden disabled; eliminating dependence on institutional care of 40 people over 65 years and 27 people with disabilities; will help to decentralization of services at local level.
