„INDEPENDENT LIVING IN DEVNYA MUNICIPALITY”

Providing accessible, high quality and sustainable services for long-term care for elderly people and people with disabilities is one of the effective tools to improve their quality of life, and their full inclusion in society. The implementation of the project will improve the quality of life of people with disabilities, the elderly people and people unable to self-service, it will improve the access to social services in the community and within the family and the access to medical services, through introducing a model of comprehensive care and support in domestic environment, through expanding the network of these services in the municipality, through their diversity, volume and scope, through enhancing their quality, and through promoting interaction between such people in the territory of Devnya Municipality. These activities are of great importance for the municipality, as the elderly people and people with disabilities lack prospects and opportunities for socialization, the alternative services are not developed and such people rely entirely on their relatives and close friends. The project will provide employment to unemployed people who provide quality care in domestic environment for elderly people, for people and children with disabilities and for seriously ill people. The implementation of the project shall have a significant impact on reducing the number of inmates in institutions for elderly people and for people with disabilities, by placing or keeping them in domestic or family environment, and also shall support job creation in the field of social services in the municipality. This project will provide opportunities for a larger number of people in need to use the "Personal Assistant", "Social assistant" and "Domestic assistant" services. The service will ensure sustainability of the project "New opportunities for care", funded under the scheme "New Alternatives" of the Operational Programme "Human Resources Development" 2014-2020.
