Thousand of stories and one dream

The project "Thousand of stories and one dream" aims to provide quality integrated social services for people with disabilities living within the territory of Municipality "Sofia", District "Iskar". This is a target group with different health, psychological and social problems facing difficulties in their individual integration in society. In order to implement the project, we are planning to establish consultative center, where part-time social integration services will be provided. The provided services will give people with disabilities opportunity to acquire new knowledge, skills and habits, which will help them overcome social isolation. Establishing a center will include hiring professionals in the field of psychology, speech and art therapy, who will work daily with disabled people from the target group. It is also planned for the center to provide transport services to people with disabilities, which will help them to get out from an isolated home environment. This will be achieved by purchasing special adapted vehicles, which will transport the target group to insitutions, schools, kindergardens, social events etc. This service will be coordinated by an appointed person and it will be carried out based on individual requests or predetermined schedule. Providing personal assistants' services is also planned to be included in the current project. This will support people with disabilities and their families. Personal assistants will provide part-time care in the domestic envirnoment and will help coping with social isolation of the target group. On the other side this contributes to the improvement of life quality of users and their families. By implementing the project we will establish integrated services for people with disabilities and those unable to take care of themselves. Specialised training seminars will be organised for the appointed team to enhance their knowledge for integration and socialisation of the target group.
