Improving the Quality of Life of People with disabilities and People over 65 in Samuil municipality The municipality of Samuil, according to data of the Civil Registration and Admnistrative Services Section by February 2015, has 7 264 residents with address registration, of them: women over 60 - 999, men over 63 - 641. According to information from the Directorate of Social Assistance – Samuil, the persons with disability receiving benefits pursuant to the Integration of People with Disabilities Act are 868, including 153 users of social services provided by Samuil municipality in a specialized institution and services in the community of the type home assistance. The level of unemployment by 30 May 2015 is 34.84 %, which is the highest for the county. The presented information shows a demographic tendency in Samuil municipality that is associated with an aging population and a growing number of people who live alone or are disadvantaged, with specific difficulties to participate in active labour and social life. The realization of this project will provide integrated services to people with disability and people who are unable to perform their daily tasks, combining complex activities for provision of long-term care, including social and health services in the community or at home. On one hand, this will give work to unemployed people of working age and on the other hand it will give opportunity to people with disability to choose the desired or necessary assistant. All people with disability depending on their needs may use different services, which according to the necessity and type of assistance will be provided by personal assistants, home care assistants, social assistants, medical specialists and psychologists.
