"Independent Life for people with disabilities and elderly people in municipality of Sevlievo"

In municipality of Sevlievo there are lots of people, which due to ill health or old age, are in partial or complete impossible to self-handling. They have needs such as daily care, improve access to social and medical services and social contacts. To achieve this needs, municipality of Sevlievo develop this project, aimed to improve access to basic social and health services and achievement of independence and social integration of the elderly and people with disabilities, by expanding the volume and diversity of social services in the community, as continuation of now provided social services. The project provides upgrading activities of existing unit for home services at Home Social Patronage of Sevlievo, for which will be hierd persons for social services “Personal Assistant” and “Social assistance”. In the Unit is expected to be hired: social worker - coordinator and social worker – activities organizer, part-time nurse and psychologist Main target groups are: • People with disabilities and their families; • People over 65 years old, with limited or impossible self-handling abilities; Main activities of projects are : 1. organisation and management of the project 2. information and publicity 3. Providing access to integrated services 4. Organising and conducting initial training and provision of supervision of personnel providing services 5. Psychological support for service users, according to their individual needs The expected results are : • Upgrading the existing and creation of new social services • Increase in the number persons who use social services • Improving the quality of life of elderly and people with disabilities
