Support for independent living and overcoming social isolation of people with disabilities and lonely elderly people in the municipality of Petrich. Providing complex cares by the Center for hourly services.

In the context of economic and social crisis strengthened by the negative demographic changes, providing accessible, high quality and sustainable services for long-term care for the elderly and people with disabilities is one of the effective tools to improve their quality of life and for their full inclusion in society. Problems of aging population and social exclusion of people with disabilities is a serious challenge for Petrich Municipality too. On the one hand these problems require increasing the need for long term cares services, respectively, increasing public expenditures on these services, on the other hand - ensuring higher quality of services offered by existing institutions. This is the main motive Petrich municipality to look for new forms of care for the elderly and people with disabilities by the scheme "Independent Life" under OP "Development of Human Resources". With the main activities, the project will provide introduction and offering of integrated services for long-term care, planned on the base of individual needs of the person. The implementation of the project will continue the activity of the existing Unit for services, created under the scheme "Help at Home" through creation of a Center for hourly services. Activities of the Center will be supported by opening of 58 new jobs for the planning and management the provision of integrated services for long-term care at home and / or community.Consumers of the services will be 112 persons- older than 65 years and persons with disabilities. Training for the staff will be conducted, basic and advanced /specialized/ and also psychological support and supervision. Psychological and motivational support to users of the services will be provided too. Organization and management of the project will be executed by a project team. The project duration is 20 months, and the services will be provided in the Center for hourly services for a period of 18 months.
