Care for Independent Living

Within the framework of the project,a new Centre for Providing Part-Time Services in the Community and in Home Environment will be created. Candidates will be selected,trained and appointed to the following positions: manager/social worker, social service specialist, psychologist, medical specialist, personal assistants, social assistants and home-helpers. The aim of the project is to assure access to social and health care for people with disabilities and elderly over the age of 65 who are unable to look after themselves and are living in social isolation, according to the specific needs of these individuals. Target groups: people with disabilities and their families; individuals over the age of 65 with limitations or inability to look after themselves. Main activities: 1.Project organization and management. 2.Establishment of working conditions for the Centre. 3.Application,selection and appointment of staff at the Centre. 4.Staff training in service provision. Supplying the staff members with psychological support and counseling services. 5.Application, assessment of necessities and classification of the candidates. Selection of service users. 6.Provision of part-time services to the users. Supplying the service users with psychological support and counseling. 7.Information and publicity. Expected results: Creation of the Centre for Providing Part-Time Services in the Community and in Home Environment; Improvement of the quality of life of people with disabilities and elderly over the age of 65 with inability to look after themselves through support and encouragement to assert their rights for independent living and social inclusion; Recruitment of unemployed people of working age and improvement of the economic status of their families; Establishment of the social and health services in home environment as a necessity for a better future and economic prosperity of the assisted people and their families.
