Independent life Project

The project will provide social services to people with disabilities and people over 65 years old, who are incapable of self-service. The project proposal will enable district "Vitosha" to provide hourly integrated services to people with disabilities and elderly people over 65 years old, who have limited ability or are unable to self-service. The implementation of the project will improve the quality of life of the users by creating conditions and support for the effective exercise of their right of independent living and social inclusion, respecting their rights based on their specific needs and opportunities. Providing integrated services in the home environment will support on one hand the consumers, on the other hand, dependent members of their families by reducing the risk of dependence on institutional care and a chance to involve members of their families in a real employment. Hourly provision of integrated care in a home environment, will allow an increase and diversification of services and meeting the needs of the targeted group. Special rules and regulation will be developed for the complex of services that will be provided in district "Vitosha" in order to ensure their quality and multidisciplinary approach. The team that will provide hourly integrated services in the home environment will include experts who have a different profile of competence - social, health education and other forms of vocational training, to ensure an integrated approach. Support at home will be provided by 45 personal assistants,2 medical assistants, 2 domestic assistants. The team will provide motivational and psychological support, according to the individual needs of the users. With the purchase of an adapted vehicle, we will provide the much-needed specialized transportation for the elderly and people with disabilities. After conducting a new assessment of the needs (services) in June 2016, we will include users who were enrolled in the "New Alternatives" project. .
