Services for early childhood development in the Municipality of Blagoevgrad

„Services for early children’s development in the Municipality of Blagoevgrad” is a project proposal of Municipality of Blagoevgrad, which provides for a period of 28 m to implement specific activities for prevention of social exclusion and reduce the poverty among children by investing in early children’s development.The project includes detailed services for children and parents from vulnerable groups, and for children with disabilities and their families.The main feature of the services is that they will be integrated-both in terms of collaboration of various professionals with the target groups and in terms of the nature of services(social, health, services for pre-school preparation).The aim of the services is not only to support parents in childcare, but also to be stimulated for greater activity in all spheres of life, to ensure better family environment. Parents will be able to receive complex support like–assistance entirely related care for young children and consulting on opportunities to improve their education, skills, employability and others. Services related to the health consulting are also included. The main purpose is not only to help people, when an illness has been detected, but also to form a health culture to correct raising children as a measure of health risk prevention.The project has also covered services related to integration of children from vulnerable groups in kindergardens and improvement of their readiness to start school. The services are focused on individual and group work with children and their families as to achieve maximum efficiency will be included children and parents who do not fall within vulnerable groups.As a result of the implementation of the project it is expected to: raising the general welfare of children, improving the school readiness of children in target group, the expansion and sustainability of services with an integrated nature at the Municipality of Blagoevgrad, targeting children and families in risk.
