Services for early childhood development in the municipality of Pernik

The project envisages the creation and provision of services for early childhood development (early intervention disability, individual educational support, providing psychological support, family counseling and support, individual and group work with children and parents; support for the provision of health advice to children and activities for disease prevention; additional educational support to increase the school readiness of children for equal start in school) to children under 7 years of age from vulnerable groups, incl. children with disabilities and their families and expectant parents living in the Municipality of Pernik. Services will be provided in newly built and equipped building from the project PSI, the building of the former House of medical care for children in Pernik; in kindergartens/schools in Pernik; in the maternity ward in Pernik. Some of the activities will be provided in the homes of service users through visits by a mobile team of specialists. A five-member team will be employed to ensure the overall operation, management and provision of social services: manager, accountant, driver, hygienist and coal trimmer. 23 specialists for providing of services will be employed. The mayor of Pernik will appoint a 4-member team to implement and manage the project. The implementation of the project activities will ensure the opportunities for providing high quality services for early childhood development, tailored to the specific needs and requirements of the target group. The results will reduce the number of children who are at risk of social exclusion, the poverty among them and their families and will support their development, increase their school readiness and improve their access to health care. Parents of children at risk and future parents will receive the necessary parenting knowledge and skills through which the living environment for their children will be improved and their abandonment and institutionalization will be prevented.
