Center for Early Childhood Development in the municipality of Shumen

The project provides to supplement and develop the services for early childhood development in Shumen, created by the Social Inclusion Project, funded by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development through the creation of the Centre for Early Childhood Development. Project target groups are children at risk aged from 0 to 7 years and their families; families with children from 0 to 7 years, including the disabled and children from 0 to 7 years, including with disabilities placed in specialized institutions and their families. The project envisages the establishment of a Management Team of the project, which will organize, coordinate, execute, monitor and report the project activities to achieve the targets. Management team will consist of a Director, accountant and coordinator. To achieve the objectives of the project will be provided professional services for early intervention of the disabilities, direct work with children with disabilities and their parents, including rehabilitation and counseling activities, training, mobile work with the children at their homes. An individual educational support will be provided to the children with disabilities. The project envisages providing transportation to access the services and mobile work teams. An important part of the activities of the project will be the establishment of a group for providing of consultating regarding the process of providing of the services, which members will be included on a voluntary basis and are professionals in various fields of activity. This will create a network of integrated services for early childhood development and services planned in the project will be provided in coordination with other community services for children from 0 to 7 years at risk and their families developed by the Shumen municipality. During the project will be carried out activities for publicity to promote opportunities for using the services and inform the public about the EU financial contribution.
