Provision of Services for Early Childhood Development in the Municipality of Smolyan

The Main Objective of the current project is prevention of the social exclusion and reducing poverty among the children in the Municipality of Smolyan, through provision of integrated services for early childhood development targeted at the children up to 7 years of age. Specific objectives of the project are: 1. Improvement of the access of the children in early ages to quality health care and increase of their preparedness for entering the educational system. 2. Increasing the capacity of the parents from the target group through formation of responsible parenting skills and improvement of the family environment aiming at reducing the poverty and its transition from generation to generation. 3. Prevention of the abandoning of children with disabilities and leaving them in institutions through provision of skills and knowledge for their parents to help them raise such children, supported by the necessary professionals. 4. To upgrade the integrated services for social inclusion in the Municipality of Smolyan which successfully started with the implementation of the Project for Social Inclusion, financed by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Loan 7612BG The foreseen activities for successful implementation of the project are as follows: Activity 1. Project management and organization Activity 2. Information and publicity Activity 3. “Early Intervention on the disabilities” and “Individual pedagogic support for children with disabilities” Activity 4. "Formation and development of parental skills” and “Family consultation and support” Activity 5. "Additional training for equal start in school” Activity 6. "Health consultation for children" Activity 7. Management and maintenance of the Centre for provision of the cervices The project will be implemented within term of 65 months. The overall budget of the project amounts to 937 317.00 BGN.
