Centre for supporting people with disabilities, including those with multiple severe disabilities

The project proposal by Varna Municipality under Grant Procedure BG05M9OP001-2.008 "Support for people with disabilities" will be realized within Priority Axis 2 "Reducing Poverty and Promoting Social Inclusion" under OP "Human Resource Development 2014-2020". Measures have been undertaken to provide support both in domestic environment and within the community of people with disabilities in need of assistance. Project target groups are disabled people who are at risk and use residential services, including those with multiple severe disabilities, as well as their families. The aim is to provide quality care for the disabled people by establishing a functioning Centre for supporting people with disabilities, including those with multiple severe disabilities. Incorporating comprehensive integrated measures of innovative nature aims at improving quality of life of people with disabilities, overcoming social isolation, preventing institutionalization of people with disabilities, encouraging and promoting participation in the labour market of parents and relatives caring for a dependent family member. Activities will be carried out in accordance with the eligible activities of the procedure and will include: repairing, furnishing, and equipping buildings as well as purchasing specialized transport vehicle for offering services as per the target group needs; personnel recruitment, conducting training and supervision; providing daily and hourly services at the Center for supporting people with disabilities, including those with multiple severe disabilities, providing mobile work, consultations, information and support, including to caregivers of people from the target group in a home environment; providing therapeutic and specialized help, rehabilitation, offering support for access to other services, orientation as per their individual needs; providing support to families caring for people with disabilities through a short-term accommodation service at the Centre.
