Center for Support of persons with disabilities - Sofia

The project is aimed at providing quality care for people with disabilities, incl. heavy multiple disabilities and their families in the capital city. For this reason, a Disability Support Center (DSC) pilot service will be established to provide comprehensive support through integrated social services in the community for people with disabilities, incl. heavy multiples. disabilities, as well as support for families / relatives who traditionally take care of them. A qualified team of 20 specialists from different spheres (social, counseling, psychological and therapeutic support, health care, etc.) will be provided for the effective functioning of DSC, who will be trained to manage the new service. DSC will specialize in delivering comprehensive support by combining services such as day and hour services, mobile work, counseling, information and support, the caregivers of the target group's representatives; provision of therapeutic aid, rehabilitation / kinesitherapy; short-term placement in substitute care (maximum 14 days) will be put in place to support families. The Center's team will also work to motivate and encourage close family carers for people with severe disabilities to start work. A prerequisite for the start of the new service is the provision of construction works in the building of the Center as well as the provision of the necessary equipment according to the needs of the target group. The building is municipal property and meets the requirements of the Managing Authority specified in the Application Conditions. The present project will contribute to the optimization of the conditions in Sofia Municipality for social inclusion and the activity of the represenatives of the target group and their families by providing them with access to integrated support through integrated social services through the DSC-Sofia project.
