Sport and Art for Community Inclusion

This project proposal is aimed at preventing institutionalization, promoting social inclusion of at least 20 disadvantaged children and young people, including those with disabilities and at risk, residing in residential services at the territory of Sofia and Sofia region by implementing measures for the development of skills for autonomy, learning and work and support for personal development . The project activities are focused on the development and implementation of individual and group work programs in support of development and social inclusion. Within the framework of the project, assistance will be provided to children and youth under the age of 29, accommodated in residential services by providing specialized support, conducting therapeutic activities to compensate for developmental difficulties through a team of 6 specialists, incl. social workers, coaches, psychologists and art therapists. The activities for the children and young people included in the services will be provided in a specially rented for this purpose equipped space. The work with them will be carried out according to developed methodology for the complex of innovative services, which will be focused in the following directions: - developing talents; - promoting mutual assistance; - encouraging children and young people to engage in motor activity and systematically practice sport as a means of healthy lifestyle, physical and spiritual development; - professional and personal development; - acquiring skills for independent living; - providing assistance for psychological, social, legal, health, labor and other counseling of young people, etc .; - mobile work; In the improvised center, children and youth will receive the individualized care and support for personality maturation and building skills for self and independent living. The organization of the services is aimed at creating conditions and attitudes of children for equal participation in the life of the local community.
