The overall objective of the BALKAN AND BLACK SEA Federation for adapted physical activity is to contribute to the prevention of institutionalization, to promote the social inclusion of disadvantaged children and young people, including those with disabilities and at risk, residing in residential services, by implementing measures to build skills and supporting personal development. For the implementation of the project "You are part of us", a number of programs for individual and group activities will be developed and applied in order to support the personal development and social inclusion of children and young people using residential services accommodation. The process includes specialized support, therapeutic activities to aid children with developmental difficulties and developing work programs based on adapted physical activities and art therapy. The programs will be implemented in 3 mixed-type accommodation centers for children with disabilities on the territory of the Sofia Municipality and one center for children and young people in the city of Razlog.The aim is to support the personal development and social inclusion of children and young people accommodated with the help of residential services. The programs focus on specialized support and the implementation of therapeutic activities to aid children with developmental difficulties. Adapted physical activity helps the individual to become aware of their own strengths, to enhance their physical and special qualities, develops the ability to overcome physical and psychological barriers, activates the compensatory mechanism of the organism and helps them achieves awareness of the personal contribution in society. The expected results are building skills for independent living, learning and working, support for personal development. The global-scale objective is to reduce the number of children and young people living in institutions by providing social and health services in the community.
