Find Your Talent

Find Your Talent project is aimed to encourage the social inclusion of 35 children and young people at risk or with disabilities, living in residential care in Lom Municipality, through support for personal maturing, talents and independent living skills development and participation in the community life . The activities represent a system of interrelated programmes for individual, group and community support aimed to compensate the developmental difficulties and to encourage the strengths and autonomy of children and youths, namely: 1. Informing and publicity of the project 2. Study of the needs, strengths and dynamic in the development of the children and youths 3. Provision of individual therapeutic and consultative support 4. Development of independent living skills 5. Development in clubs for talents 6. Participation of children and youths in local activities Under the project activities, the children and young people develop their skills for accepting differences, making decisions, planning and participation, communication and interaction – all related with the readiness for independent life. The project is expected to demonstrate that these skills and activities can and have to be created and upgraded through the life of every child and youth, despite of the presence of risk or disability. The concrete short-term and long-term results of the project implementation include: - The elaborated instruments for studying needs of support for development and achievement of independence, strengths and results for the children and youths are used throughout the project and after its end - 35 children and youths at risk or with disabilities are actively involved in interrelated activities for needs assessment, therapeutic support, skills and talents development in programmes for independent living and clubs for talents, as well as in local events. - The local community is activated to support and include children and youths in vulnerable situation.
