Find me in the farm

Modern educational methods for teaching children with social problems and from multiethnic societies include various games and learning practices. Through physical activities and on-the-job training, not only mental but also biochemical changes are being activated, self-learning and learning skills are cultivated, support for personal development is acquired. Good results are achieved when these methods are used informally, not as part of the mandatory teaching process. The main idea behind this project proposal is to establish a farm for children residing in residential services. It will be established on the territory of Children's Complex "Faith, Hope and Love", Kichevo, Aksakovo Municipality. A program of several modules will be developed, which the children will perform according to a preliminary plan - it includes self-building the farm, training in gardening, food preparation, nature conservation. The aim is to use gardening as a a physical activity and to create skills for: - growing of vegetables, fruits and flowers by children - this creates habits for work and environmental care; - provoking the scientific and research interest of children in agriculture, explaining the origin of the food and its significance, the ways of using the vegetables and fruits grown during its preparation. Study visits will be organized by taking children out of the complex - in companies involved in horticulture and catering. This will help socialize them outside of residential services. The project will include agronomists, pedagogues and training experts with experience in mentoring children. The project target group is 27 children - 14 girls and 13 boys in two age groups: 4 - 11 years incl. and 12 - 17 years incl. Providing extracurricular activities will increase the independence of the target group and their social integration. Project actions will contribute to recognizing target groups as having a potential for self-development.
