Creating a social enterprise for public works and landscaping municipality Borovo "BOR"

This project will be implemented in Borovo, Ruse District. It is a municipality of rural type with high level of unemployment and aging population. Most of the unemployed have low level of education and lack of motivation to work. The need to develop social economy is of strategic importance to create effective mechanism to prevent long term unemployment in the municipality. During the project time will be established the social enterprise “Bor (The Pine”) in Borovo for landscaping and development of municipal objects and areas. A five-year Program for the development of the social enterprise will be developed. The Program will describe activities to achieve positive social impact as voluntary actions and fund raising campaigns for cleaning community areas. The target group includes 15 persons – long-term unemployed, people with disabilities, people over in 50’s and single parents who will be worked with aiming motivation and creation of skills for social and professional integration. 6 of them will be included in vocational training and 8 in subsidized employment for 12 months. Borovo Municipality will provide sustainability keeping the employment of 4 persons after project completion. The project activities are: Identification and motivation of target group; Establishment and operation of the Social Enterprise; Vocational training for those who will be employed in SE; Providing employment in SE; Study of demand and market for the services provided; Social marketing and promotion of SE. Results: Created conditions for development of social economy in Borovo through the Social Enterprise; 15 persons assisted to participate in social and professional life; Increased professional qualification of 6 persons and provided employment for 8; Analyzed good practices for social entrepreneurship; Developed marketing mix of SE; Developed marketing strategy for “Bor” Social Enterprise.
