Social enterprise - tailoring workshop for people with disabilities

The Social Enterprise tailoring workshop for people with disabilities" aims to prepare psycho-socially and professionally people with mental and physical disabilities from institutions in Plovdiv by offering job, training and support for social inclusion. The project will be implemented with CCS "St. George" and its Center for vocabulary training as expansion of the existing social sewing enterprise of NAVA through the inclusion of these new target groups. As part of the activities an opportunity to direct employment and / or training of 21 people will be given. Social enterprise is a mandatory step in the preliminary preparation for employment of people with disabilities and opportunities for transition to employment. For some of them it is the only alternative for social inclusion. Safe working environment will enable to master the theoretical, practical and labour skills of workplace, raising the level of social competence as part of the training program, a gradual transition from sheltered employment in supported employment to work in a standard production environment. The methodology of work is adapted from German partners with proven tradition and expertise in social entrepreneurship, which was explored in previous projects implemented from NAVA and was adapted and tested in Bulgarian conditions, the result of which is the existence for 3 years of the social enterprise of NAVA in partnership with CCS "St. George ". The project will contribute to the integration of persons with intellectual disabilities to overcome their social isolation and their full inclusion in society; will create conditions for keeping a separate, independent living and achieve effective social inclusion of disadvantaged people through realization of the free labor market, which is the main priority of the program and the concept of social economy.
