Improvement of the conditions for active social inclusion of the members of the National Association of Deaf-Blinds in Bulgaria through support for the existing and development of new services for people with disabilities within the organization

The project addresses the wide range of needs of deaf-blind people in the country and mostly to those of them with deep combined hearing and visual impairments: communication and awareness, access to the environment, training, work with family members, support and care for worthy and independent life. Through the implementation of the envisaged activities, the opportunities for improving the quality of life of the deaf-blind people in the country, including children and young people with such disabilities and their families, will be expanded, as well as their social inclusion. Part of the project activities are aimed at raising the public awareness about the problems and opportunities of the deaf-blind people and changing the attitudes towards them. In addition, the project aims at facilitating and expanding the access to employment of the target groups, as well as providing opportunities for the return to the labor market of those who care for their relatives with such disabilities. The project is also aimed at improving the knowledge and skills of civil society structures to implement local and national policies in the field of support for people with disabilities and their families, as well as effective partnership and dialogue with the administration, the social partners and society.
