"Implementation of Measures for Socio-Economic and Educational Integration of Vulnerable Groups in Belitsa Municipality"

This project is in execution with the municipal plan for integration of Roma community and is connected to the main strategic objectives of state policies towards marginalized groups - improving living standards by including them in the labor market, measures to promote health culture, inclusive education, overcoming isolation through active social behavior and tolerance on the part of civil society, thus directly responding to the priorities of OPHRD and OPNOIR. The envisaged activities under OPHRD are: - Strand I "Improving access to employment" - Strand II "Improving access to education" - Strand III "Improving access to social and health services" - Strand IV "Developing Local Communities and Overcoming Negative Stereotypes" The envisaged activities under the OPSEID are: - additional Bulgarian language training for children for whom Bulgarian is not main language, - Providing psychological support to the children at "Nadejda" kindergarden - encouraging parents' participation in the education process - work with parents, regardless of their ethnic origins, to explain the benefits of educational integration and the acceptance of differences - overcoming negative public attitudes based on ethnic origin and cultural identity. The project is in line with the main vision of Belitsa's municipality policy for improving the living environment and enhancing the European self-esteem of its citizens and its implementation is aimed at: • Creation of structures for activation of the Roma community • Improving the adaptability and quality of life of target groups in need of social support • Overcoming the isolation of marginalized groups and their integration into society • Stimulating people at risk to cope with their problems • Activation of civil society for tolerance, empathy and sociability towards disadvantaged people.
