"I, you, she and he, together for social integration in Borovan municipality"

This project proposal aims to contribute to improving the socio-economic integration of marginalized communities, Roma in the municipality of Borovan. The municipality of Borovan and its partners - 2 kindergartens, 3 primary schools and 3 NGOs provide a comprehensive social package to 700 vulnerable inhabitants of the municipality, challenging the complex problems they face. The interventions are aimed at improving access to employment, education, social and health services, developing the local community and overcoming negative stereotypes. Activities to increase professional qualification and employment are envisaged. There are included targeted support for children and pupils to retain at kindergartens and schools and improve their educational outcomes through additional Bulgarian language training, improving the intercultural educational environment, participating in clubs to develop their individual potential and talents, psychological support, working with parents. Improving access to and delivery of quality social and health services will be done through the provision of integrated cross-sectoral services tailored to the specific needs of users, individual consultations, health examinations and socio-health mediation, raising awareness of social and health rights and health culture. The activation of the Roma community and the creation of a durable model of cooperation at local level with the participation of all stakeholders will be achieved through the functioning of a Community Center. All planned joint actions will help overcome negative stereotypes in the local community and promote tolerance. The envisaged activities are in line with the identified needs of the Roma population in Borovan Municipality. They are in line with the Municipal Strategy for Equal Integration of the Roma 2016-2020 and the Action Plan 2017-2020 as well as the Borovan Municipality concept. They correspond to the relevant investment priorities of the OP HRD and OP SESG.
