Support for children and youth in the Municipality of Kyustendil

Project Support for children and youth in the municipality of Kyustendil aims to create and implement a sustainable model for deinstitutionalisation of childcare/youth, deprived of parental care and children/ youth at risk,by revealing and providing new resident services in the municipality of Kyustendil-Transient dwelling for 8 children from 15 to 18 years of age and Supervised dwelling for 6 youth from 18 to 21 years.This project proposal supports the process of deinstitutionalisation of children in residential care homes and the closure of these institutions.The implementation of the procedure will ensure the provision of the new services in the community built under the project "Improving the social infrastructure in Kyustendil Municipality-a guarantor for a sustainable model for deinstitutionalization" financed by Contract BG16RFOP001-5.001-0042-C01 under the procedure"Support for deinstitutionalization childcare ”of Operational program“ Regions in growth 2014-2020.In line with the already achieved infrastructural results,the intentions of the Municipality of Kyustendil are now oriented towards ensuring social inclusion, equal access and protection of children and young people placed in institutions and children / youth at risk from the community.The social inclusion of children/youth will be of paramount importance and will be achieved by enabling all of them to participate in all aspects of community life,including attending local schools and using local health, transport and other public services. The deinstitutionalisation of care for these children/young people will be fulfilled one of the most important conditions for guaranteeing their rights,which for one reason or another are at risk or cannot be raised by their families.The project proposal complies with the Updated action plan for the implementation of the National Strategy "Vision for deinstitutionalization of children in the Republic of Bulgaria" and the approved Map of resident services.
