New social services for children and youth in Municipality of Blagoevgrad

The project proposal ensures the provision of new social services in the municipality of Blagoevgrad, for which an appropriate social infrastructure has been built with funds under OPRD 2014-2020. The new social services include: Center for Support of Children and Youth with Disabilities and Their Families (capacity 30 places), Day care center for children and young people with severe multiple disabilities and their families (capacity 30 places), Community support center (capacity 100 places), Supervised housing for young people aged 18 to 21 (capacity 4 places) and Transitional housing for children from 15 to 18 years (capacity 8 places). The project activities include selection and hiring of staff for the new social services, purchase of a specialized vehicle for the needs of children and youth with disabilities and provision of the new social services, in accordance with the methodological guidelines of the Social Assistance Agency. The total duration of the project is expected to be 30 months, of which the first 6 months are provided for preparatory activities, including staff selection and removal of children and young people who will be accommodated in the new residential services, and in the remaining 24 months activities for the provision of the new five social services will be carried out. The project aims to implement models of quality alternative care and support for children and young people, including children and young people with disabilities and their families. The support will be tailored to the individual needs of the people it targets and will be provided by staff with relevant skills. The organization of work in the new social services will meet the accepted criteria and standards.
