CARE FOR CHILDREN IN THE COMMUNITY

The project proposal was developed in support of the complementarity of a project of the Municipality of Elin Pelin under the grant procedure BG16RFOP001-5.001 "Support for the deinstitutionalization of childcare" under the Operational Programme "Regions in Growth" and was a beneficiary for the construction of social infrastructure, related to the process of deinstitutionalization and according to the Map of support services in the community and in family environment and the Map of resident services under the updated action plan for implementation of the National Strategy "Vision for deinstitutionalization of children in the Republic of Bulgaria" - family-type accommodation center for children without disabilities, community support center/community center for children and families and a day center for support for children and young people with disabilities and their families. Three community social services will be unveiled for children in which children brought out of institutions, children at risk and children and young people with disabilities will receive various support activities to improve their quality of life and their social inclusion in the community. The families of children and young people will also receive support – increasing parental capacity, acquiring skills to provide better care for children with disabilities, improving the relationship of child-parents and extended family. The social services will be equipped and furnished according to the needs of the children, outside the equipment purchased under procedure BG16RFOP001-5.001. For the needs of children and young people with disabilities, a specialized vehicle will be purchased. The car will be used for transporting children and young people with disabilities to and from the day center, as well as for carrying out mobile social work, for the inclusion of children from the three social services in various events organized by the municipality and others.
