Center for public support and Day center for support of children with disabilities and their families in the Municipality of Mezdra

The main goal is to provide support for the continuation of the deinstitutionalization process by implementing models for quality alternative care for children placed in institutions, including children with disabilities and children in need of permanent medical care, guaranteeing their life in a family environment and equal access to services for social inclusion on the territory of the municipality of Mezdra. Creating and providing social and integrated health and social services in the community, based on the needs of each child. The Municipality of Mezdra will open two new non-existent social services, namely: 1. The day center will provide a set of activities and care in the community for children with disabilities, which will provide conditions for their service during the day, meeting their needs. The use of the social service will provide opportunity for parents of children with disabilities to be actively involved in public life, to realize themselves professionally, as well as to receive professional support and assistance in caring for their children. 2. The Center for Public Support will provide a set of social services designed for children and families in order to prevent the abandonment of children and their placement in specialized institutions, prevention of violence and dropping out of school, deinstitutionalization and reintegration of children, training in skills for independent living and social integration of children from institutions, counseling and support of families at risk, assessment, training and support of foster parents and adoptive parents, counseling and support of children with behavioral problems and manifestations.
