Shelter for homeless persons and families

From the available data concerning the specific number of homeless people on the territory of the Municipality of Dobrich and the Municipality of Dobrich, there is an ascendant curve in the group of those seeking temporary sleep, especially during the winter. The officially registered persons in temporary accommodation establishments are on average 15-20, among which there are representatives from other settlements. At present, there are no official statistics illustrating the current number of homeless people in the territory, as well as data on the real situation that determines the current problem in the described group. The multifactorial features of the specific problem may obscure the much larger number of representatives of this segment of society. The most vulnerable groups of people who graduate without shelter are people between the ages of 50-65, most often men who have lost contact with relatives or families or have bad relationships with them. Minorities are often left homeless. Some of them live in isolation in the slums, others on the street or in old abandoned buildings in extremely poor living and hygienic conditions. What they all have in common is their inability to meet their basic vital needs for food, clean water, warmth, health, safety and restful sleep. Some of them are elderly, which further complicates their situation. The end result is often complemented by many harmful habits - smoking, depression, daily alcohol and opium intake of various kinds and others. Therefore, this project aims to create a shelter for homeless people and their families, which provides shelter for a period not exceeding 3 months within a calendar year for a certain part of the day (from 17:00 on the current day to 10:00 the next day), and support to meet their basic needs - food, hygiene, social and health counseling.
