Empowering Women from Vulnerable Communities by Extending the Network of Mother Centers in Isperih Municipality

The present project proposal aims to meet the need to diversify and introduce new models for the social and economic integration of vulnerable communities on the LAG Isperih. The main target group of the project are women from vulnerable communities focusing on Roma women from the West neighborhood of Isperih, Podaiva village, Kitanchevo village and Vazovo village. The specific role of the Roma woman in the community and society determines the need to take specific measures for its social and economic integration. Typical of Roma women is that they are often victims of multilayer isolation and exclusion. Once because they are women and the patriarchal order in the Roma community put them in a non-privileged position, and secondly because they are of Roma origin, they bear all the negative consequences of the stigmatization of Roma in Bulgaria. The implementation of the project will make it possible to expand the network of Mother Centers on the territory of the Isperih LAG. In addition to the Mother Centers, activities aimed at encouraging women to take part in the labor market, cultural and public life on the territory of the LAG Isperih will be implemented. The results of the implementation of the project will be directed towards reduced unemployment, better community self-organization and enhanced civilian role of women from vulnerable communities.
