"Patronage of elderly and disabled people in Oryahovo Municipality"

In recent years, the need for services to provide care and care for the elderly in dependent conditions has increased. The reasons for this are complex. At present, care for elderly people in difficult and severe health conditions is provided to a very large extent in a patriarchal environment - by family members, relatives and relatives, by hired caretakers for remuneration. But when the need for medical competence arises, family efforts prove to be inadequate . There is a need for long-term care that includes specialized medical and social services. The project proposal is fully in line with the objectives of the announced grant award procedure, namely to improve the quality of life and the opportunities for social inclusion of people with disabilities and the elderly by providing a service network in a home environment. On the territory of Oryahovo Municipality projects for personal assistants and social assistants have been implemented and are being implemented. This proposal builds on the results of the project "Home care for an independent and dignified life" realized by the Bulgarian Red Cross, as well as the results achieved by other transitional projects and helps to create conditions for sustainable development. Of the information available to disabled people in Oryahovo municipality with more than 70%, there are more than 900 with proven disability, and the percentage of elderly people over 65 with the impossibility of self-care. The aim of this project is to cover a larger number of people in need who will receive a high-quality comprehensive health-social service and qualified help. The project has contributed to the implementation of the Municipal Development Plan of Oryahovo Municipality (2014-2020) All pledged activities apply the principle of equal opportunities, gender equality, non-discrimination.
