Patronage care of an independent and dignified life in the municipality of Dolna Mitropolia

The aspirations of people towards independent life relate directly to fundamental human rights. This means you can live like everyone else. For people with physical disabilities personal assistance is vital because it is the only way to provide all the basic conditions necessary for a normal life. The current project aims to build on the established model for the provision of hourly mobile integrated health and social services for the elderly, and will enhance the results of the project "Home care for an independent and dignified life" implemented by the Bulgarian Red Cross together with MLSP and the Ministry of Health with funding from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation under the Bulgarian-Swiss Cooperation and Co-Financing Program by the Institutions. The aim of the project is to meet the needs of the target groups to the fullest extent, given that, in addition to the services provided by the current team, opportunities will be provided for meetings with a psychologist. The team will provide mobile hourly services in the home environment - for personal and healthcare, social support and community-based assistance to 80 deprived persons, which will ensure a higher efficiency of the provided services in the use of significantly smaller financial resource through the application of flexible mechanisms for the combined hourly use of different social services, oriented to the individual needs of each user. The services provided in a family environment will be tailored to the individual needs, wishes and living conditions of the users. For this purpose, a suitable car will be purchased to reach the homes of the users and, if necessary, transport them to healthcare facilities, administrative buildings, etc. The project envisages training for those who implement the integrated social service in order to be fully prepared and competent to provide it.
