Municipality of Krivodol and Municipality of Borovan- partners to care for a better life

The Partnership between Krivodol Municipality and Borovan Municipality aims to build a model of patronage care to improve the quality of life and the opportunities for social inclusion of people with disabilities and the elderly by providing a network of services in a home environment. The project envisages the provision of hourly mobile integrated health and social services in the homes of elderly people, people with disabilities and those with chronic diseases and permanent disabilities. The provision of these services aims to prevent the institutionalization of people dependent on care and building a host and supportive attitude in society. The following supportive services are planned in the home environment - domestic assistant and health and social services - patronage of the target group members included in the project. The project envisages services to be provided within 12 months and to cover over 63 persons from both municipalities. These will be people with limited or inability to self-service, people with disabilities and their families, and those who have no relatives and who have a social need for hourly services. Home helpers and healthcare professionals will be selected to provide up to two hours of mobile integrated health and social services to consumers in their home environment. It is envisaged to create a service management team that will include 2 dispatchers, one for each of the municipalities and one driver for Borovan Municipality. Integrated services will be provided to people who are selected through a clear procedure for preparing individual needs assessments, while respecting the horizontal principles of equal opportunities, non-discrimination and gender equality. A leading idea for planning these activities is to bring integrated health and social services to the homes of consumers. The provision of such services is in the interest of both the people to whom they will be provided and the whole of society.
