Patronage care in Krumovgrad Municipality

The Patronage care project in Krumovgrad Municipality aims to improve the quality of life and the opportunities for social inclusion of disabled and elderly people by providing a network of services in the home environment and building appropriate physical and staffing capacity for their provision. This will be achieved through the provision of hourly integrated health and social services at the homes of the users, according to a program / methodology developed by the Ministry of Health under component 1 under the “Patronage care for the elderly and disabled”. The idea of such an upgrade of social services is based on the diverse and dynamic needs of daily living of a large number of people with disabilities and the elderly, as well as the need to provide effective and efficient support under limited resources. The users of the project services will be elderly people over 65 years with limited or inability to self-service and people with disabilities and their families. Older people with chronic illnesses and people with permanent disabilities will receive specialized medical care in their homes. For the purpose of the project, staff will be appointed to manage the services and staff to provide health-social services in a home environment. To ensure an integrated approach to the services, the staff will include experts with a different competence profile: social workers, medical specialists, rehabilitators, psychologists, and sanitaries. In order to meet the service quality standards, medical specialists and professionals in the field of social services providing patronage care will undergo specialized training organized by the Ministry of Health. To ensure equal access to the services of the project, a vehicle will be purchased for the purpose of carrying out the mobile work. The provision of integrated health and social services will be for a period of 12 months.
