Integrated measures for social and educational inclusion of vulnerable groups on the territory of the Municipality of Rousse

Social integration is a prerequisite for the successful and sustainable development of Bulgarian society. The integration of the Bulgarian citizens with vulnerable social status, from different ethnic groups is an active two-way process of social inclusion, directed towards overcoming the existing negative socio-economic characteristics and subsequent society prosperity. The aim of this project proposal is to create conditions for equal integration of vulnerable people from different ethnic groups in public and economic life, by providing equal opportunities and equal access to opportunities, goods and services, participation in all public spheres and improving quality of life in compliance with the principles of equality and non-discrimination. The project applies an integrated targeted approach to the citizens of vulnerable groups in the Municipality of Ruse, within the strategy for combating poverty and exclusion - Action Plan of the Municipality. The plan aims to analyze and identify problems and to plan the activities during the implementation of the integration policy -aimed at vulnerable groups living in a similar situation, in this way to achieve social cohesion. The implementation of Municipal policy for integration of marginalized groups is a continuous process, a tool for harmonization of local initiatives and the needs of the citizens of the Municipality, in order to improve the well-being of these groups. Expected results: Education - Coverage and retention of children and students in the educational system, ensuring equal access to educational institutions; Health - Providing access to health services for disadvantaged persons belonging to ethnic minorities. Employment: Improving the access of vulnerable groups to the labour market and increasing the share of employees among them. Overcoming negative stereotypes: Positive change of public attitudes to the problems of the most vulnerable groups.
