Social and economic integration and better access to education in Kazanlak Municipality

In 2020 Kazanlak Municipality concluded an administrative contract for financial grant assistance in the framework of the ERDF regarding the establishment of 10 social housing units. The aim of the current project proposal is as to further the integrated investments for vulnerable groups and as a second stage to achieve their integration on the labor market, to improve their access to education, social and health services as well as to overcome the negative stereotypes. The integrated approach will include measures in four different sectors: employment, education, social services, overcoming the negative attitudes toward the target group. All activities in the project proposal are in line with and support the measures of the Municipality Plan about Integration of roma communities and other disadvantaged groups and the Municipality Strategy about the development of social services. The planned activities in the project proposal concern two Operational Programs. The Beneficiary and two employers, including a NGO will perform activities through the Operational Program “Human Resource Development” for the improvement of the access to the labor market, social and health services and overcoming the negative attitudes towards the target group. The Beneficiary, four primary schools and three kindergartens will realize activities under the Operational Program “Science and Education for Smart Growth” for additional activities for students, who are vulnerable to abandon school, improvement of the access to education, providing psychological support to children in the minorities, support for continuing the education, measures to involve parents in the study process and measures to overcome negative attitudes between the different societies based on ethnical and cultural identity. As a result of the taken measures better employment, educational, social and health integration will be achieved in the disadvantaged groups, including people form the roma communities.
