Center for Social Rehabilitation and Integration for People with Mental Disorders and Mental Disabilities

The construction of this center is dictated by the process of the removal of adults with disabilities from specialized institutions and the provision of opportunities for their social inclusion. The target group includes, besides currently accommodated adults with mental disorders and mental retardation in specialized institutions and residential services in Dryanovo Municipality - about 140 people, also people with mental disorders and mental retardation and living in the community, as well as their families. The main objective is to support and assist in the development or restoration of community living skills through the provision of hourly and mobile services at the Center for Social Rehabilitation and Integration for People with Mental Disorders and Mental Disabilities. The work of the center will also contribute to the prevention of the social exclusion of people who now live in the community and encounter difficulties which are a prerequisite for institutionalization if support services are not available. The expected results are a new form of social service whose work is focused more on the interaction of the individual and the community; formed life skills based on the individual capabilities of the people who use the services; changed public attitudes towards people who are experiencing difficulties due to the presence of mental disorders or mental retardation. The main activities of the project include: Renovation of the premises provided for this center; Furniture and equipment for the center; Hiring of staff; Training and ongoing support of staff; Development of methodology for the provision of services in the Center for Social Rehabilitation and Integration for People with Mental Disorders and Mental Disabilities; Car purchase; Ensuring the activity of the center for a period of 12 months.
