Labor market realization support for mentally handicapped persons accommodated in sheltered housing

The main goal of the "Labor market realization support for mentally handicapped persons accommodated in sheltered housing" project is to provide labor market realization support to sixteen persons with different mental disabilities (both men and women), who are accommodated in two sheltered houses in the village of Tsareva Livada, Dryanovo Municipality, and to do so in a way that is fitting for their needs and abilities. The project's goals are linked directly to providing the intellectually handicapped persons with access to long term professional support for labor market realization and their transition to independent living, which includes assessment of their needs considering the development of skills required, preparation of Independent living individual plan, assigning a personal counselor (mentor) for each person, who is a member of the service team. The mentor is expected to provide advice and support to the intellectually handicapped person in any aspect that may interest or affect them. The mentor is also a point of contact in any area of that person's individual plan. He participates in the assessment of their needs and the preparation of the Independent living individual plan. He also contacts any institution required to fulfill the individual plan and coordinates the services provided to the intellectually handicapped person. The project also includes psychological counseling to support the development of confidence and personal growth, free time awareness through improved self knowledge and development of life planning, self understanding and accurate self assessment skills, social and professional counseling, including assessment of current professional orientation and its modernization, proper professional choice motivation, counseling related to the supply and demand on the labor market, development of employment skills and self promoting on the labor market, and making contact with regional employment organizations, "Bureau of Labor" and others.
