Employment and Community Work in Villages in Lukovit Municipality

The project uses an integrated approach combining activities to improve the access to employment, enhance the access to social and health services and the local communities’ development,and overcome negative stereotypes. Within the activity “Employment”,14 p. from vulnerable groups will be employed for 12 m. as subsidised employment. Unemployed people who meet the project criteria will be employed in three villages - Dermantsi,Bezhanovo and Uglen, on the position"Labourer" for maintaining the hygiene in buildings and public places and maintaining green spaces in public area. Improving the access to social and health services will be achieved through the opening of a Community Centre for Early Childhood Development and Parental Support in the village of Dermantsi and external workplaces in Bezhanovo and Uglen, where people from the target groups will be recruited as community workers: respectively in the village of Dermantsi–2, in Bezhanovo–2, Uglen-1. The centre will be operating for 12 m., within the project duration,and will provide services on a schedule for children - early childhood development services and for parents - support for parenting and family skills,through consultation with a psychologist, social worker, nurse and midwife. In the three settlements, premises for individual and group work will be equipped. During the project period, an expert will cover the work with the target groups, their opinions, impressions, expectations and impact.The final video material will be broadcasted and distributed as a final product – a result of the activities for local communities’ development and overcoming the negative stereotypes based on ethnicity. In the process of filming, the participants will be challenged to acquire teamwork skills and critical thinking.To implement the project activities an individual approach will be applied for every participant as well as being tailored to the specifics of each settlement.The project implementation period is 18 m.
