A New Long-Term Care for Elderly People and People with Disabilities - Stage 2 - Provision of the New Services - a Care Center for People with Various forms of Dementia and a Care Center for Elderly People Incapable of Self-Service on the Territory of Gabrovo Municipality

The current project aims at creating an opportunity for an independent and dignified life of elderly people and people with disabilities in Gabrovo municipality, through provision of qualitative, accessible and effective cross-sectorial services for long-term care corresponding to the target groups' real needs. The identified target groups include people over 65 years of age with limitations or incapability of self-service; people with disabilities, including those with various forms of dementia, and their families, institutionalized elderly people, incl. disabled ones, and their families; employees of social and healthcare services providers. The project will provide support to the target groups through the establishment of 2 resident care services - a Care center for people with various forms of dementia and a Care center for elderly people incapable of self-service on the territory of Gabrovo municipality. The two centers will be situated on 4 floors, part of the premises of the former Home for medico-social services for children in Gabrovo which were renovated under a project financed by Operational Program "Regions in Growth" 2014-2020, each of them with a capacity of 15 people. The project duration is 16 months and its implementation will start with the elaboration of regulations for the provision of the services, outsourcing the services, hiring and training of staff, and services provision. The project also envisions the purchase of furniture and equipment of first necessity. The two services will be provided for the period of 12 months and will meet the needs of 30 users. As a result of the project implementation, there will be built-up a capacity for provision of resident care for people with disabilities and dependent elderly people.
