"New long-term care for people with mental disorders in the municipality of Strumyani"

This project is developed in the context of the overall process of enabling people with mental disorders to live independently by providing quality, affordable and effective long-term care services tailored to the real needs of people. The project "New long-term care for people with mental disorders in the municipality of Strumyani" aims to create and provide four new social services - Centres for care of people with mental disorders of residential type for 60 people. The new residential services (care centres) will accommodate people who will be taken out of a specialized institution. The project envisages activities for selection, hiring, initial and upgrading training of staff, development of internal rules governing the activities of services, purchase of tangible assets, as well as activities for organization and management, information and communication of the project. As a result of the project implementation, the provision of quality care will be ensured, according to the individual care plans and the specific needs and requirements of the individual users. There will be an opportunity for accommodation in a family-like environment - assistance in achieving maximum independence, in combination with other social, health, educational and other support/accompanying services. The implementation of the project will complement measures (project "Construction of four centres for care of persons with mental disorders in the municipality of Strumyani"), funded under OPRD 2014-2020, with the support of which the social infrastructure for the provision of new services in the village Kamenica, Strumyani municipality. The project proposal is in accordance with the measures set in the Action Plan for the period 2018-2021 for implementation of the National Strategy for Long-Term Care, as well as with the planned development of the social sector in the municipality of Strumyani.
