New long-term care for the elderly and people with disabilities - Stage 2 - providing the new services in the Municipality of Sliven

The project will provide two social services of a residental type: Care Center for People with Mental Disorders and Care Center for People with Intellectual Disability. The appropriate infrastructure for the two services has been built with funds from the Operational Programme "Growing Regions" 2014- 2020. The proposal will finance the activities for the provision of the above-mentioned services for a period of up to 12 months, after which they will acquire the status of a state financed activity. The capacity of each one of the both services is 15 people. The implementation of the project proposal corresponds to the planned measures, included in the National Strategy for Long-Term Care and is part of the overall process of deinstitutionalization of the services for elderly people and people with disabilities. The project offers an alternative support in the community by providing qualitative and affordable long-term care. The implementation of the project activities will support the people, brought out of the specialized institutions in terms of acquiring or restoring skills for a dignified life in the community. For people with mental illness, the disease is often chronic and requires long-term support and assistance from professionals to overcome various social dysfunctions and loss of skills to cope with simple life situations. The time spent in the Centers will contribute to the formation of skills for relatively independent life, based on the individual features and capabilities of the users. As a result of the project, 15 people with mental disorders and 15 people with intellectual disability will be taken out, after an assessment, done by employees of the Social Assistance Agency, specialized institutions and / or State Psychiatric Hospitals.
