“Patronage care for elderly people and people with disabilities in Hitrino Municipality”

In the context of the coronavirus outbreak and the declared state of emergency, a great need to provide services for the elderly has been identified in Hitrino Municipality. The project is carried out by Hitrino Municipality and covers all populated areas. The population in the municipality consists mainly of elderly people in small rural areas, with no access to transport and other services. The aid is directed towards people above the age of 65 years with impairments or incapable of self-service, people with disabilities and their families, people put into quarantine by the health authorities that need care with the purpose to protect the community. The aid will be provided to 41 people. The municipality has the necessary information for each of the individuals and will organize the process of their involvement in the project. People who are quarantined will be involved by collaborating with the health authorities. The workers providing the aid will be on a contract of employment. People who have experience in similar positions and have the ability and motivation to provide all services covered by the project will be engaged. The project includes the realization of the following services: Delivery of food and other essentials, including medicine (funded by the clients or other parties and not with project resources), payment of utility bills, requesting and receiving critical administrative services (funded by the clients or other parties and not with project resources). Transportation of the personnel, providing the services from/to the homes of the people receiving the services, which will be done with vehicles of the municipality. The transportation will be used for buying medicine, administrative services or when there’s no grocery store in the populated place. Provisioning of protective gear and disinfectants for the people providing the services.
